As soon as there is too little space in the shoe, a new pair is needed. When the shoes become too small, the feet can’t roll properly and the toe space becomes tight. This can lead to an unnatural toe position and subsequently to poor posture or even knee and hip problems.
When buying new superfit shoes, what was important last time is important now:
For a shoe to fit, the length needed inside the shoe must be determined exactly. In a child's shoe, both the space for growth – the so-called growing room – and the space for the foot to roll – the so-called movement space – must be taken into account. The free space in front of the toes, which is made up of movement and growing room, is called the allowance. The allowance for a child's shoe should be approx. 9 mm for a beginner, later 12 to max. 15 mm.
Measure your children's feet regularly. As an alternative to the measuring scale, simply remove the insole from the shoe and place the child's foot on it. If the allowance is sufficient, then everything is fine.
To determine the right size for the new shoes, you can also consult our superfit shoe size calculator. You can use it to quickly and easily check the child's shoe size at any time.
Children have no sense of the correct shoe size. This is quite natural, because children's feet – unlike an adult’s – are relatively insensitive to pressure. That’s why children can’t give reliable information about whether a shoe fits when they try it on.
It can often be observed that children even put on shoes the wrong way round. Because their nerves aren’t yet fully developed, children have little feeling of pressure in the shoe. Plus, their bones are soft and therefore more easily deformed than those of an adult.
Whether slipper, sandal, ballerina, loafer, sneaker or boot, nothing should stand in the way of the new superfit model – you can order your desired model quickly and easily online in the right size.
